Dear Advocate,
It’s time to take our gloves off—tell a sharper, harder-edged story that hits the problem(s), identifies heroes and villains, and lays out a credible path to success. And we need to do this with passion.
Americans are hearing two very different stories about America; each version is embedded in stark and contrasting visions for our country. The future of the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, and Medicaid are intricately linked to this fissure.
We need to unite our battles. Medicare, Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act are not silo issues; rather they are interconnected, deeply joined to the bigger themes of the 99% movement, and being played out in the Super Committee.
When we talk to the public, which we all must do, we need to tell stories that describe a stronger country—not just preserving a program while our opponents talk about ensuring the American way of life, and not just analytical while our opponents infuse their rhetoric with passion. We are strengthening our country and we need to tell why and how with passion.
With this in mind, HA is updating some communications resources for your review and use. Today we have LINKS to the following documents:
Watch for upcoming emails with links to new communications tips documents including our next one on connecting Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act. Check out the websites of FamiliesUSA, HCAN, etc. for actions and resources related to the Super Committee and the 99% Movement.
And let us know what other communications resources HA can assist you with.
